Hi Ugochi!
Great! Therefore, if you’ve removed this older version of MySQL Server, and then have retried with the newer installed, you should be good to go, right?
Please note that to remove MySQL Server (or any of its components, or the entire MySQL) from your computer, you need to have removed them from any of the following four places:
- Control Panel
- Firewall (if applicable)
- RegEdit (Windows registry)
- Your drive, where you have installed the program.
Only after checking out with these 4 steps and restarting your Windows can you consider MySQL (or any of its components) successfully removed.
Hope this helps but please feel free to get back to us should you need further assistance. Thank you.
Best,
Martin
